I second this very important motion. This is a very critical issue. Today is the first anniversary of the ratification of the Kyoto protocol. Australia stands out in being isolated from the rest of the global community on the No. 1 issue facing the world. As the member for Grayndler pointed out, Australia and the United States alone have refused to ratify the Kyoto protocol; yet, when the issue was first debated, at the time the government talked about Kyoto being a win-win situation.
