by leave—I move:
That, for the sitting on Wednesday, 14 June 2006, so much of the standing and sessional orders be suspended as would prevent questions without notice being called on at 2.30 pm.
Through you, Mr Speaker, I ask the Deputy Leader of the House: will these changed arrangements mean another reduction in question time or will each side of the House get to ask 10 questions by agreeing to support this motion?
As the Chief Opposition Whip would be aware, it is not the responsibility of the chair to organise the number of questions asked during question time, but the Deputy Leader of the House might wish to comment.
I am very happy to reassure the honourable member that the opposition will be given full opportunity to fulfil its normal and regular role in question time.
Question agreed to.
