I take this opportunity to mention that, following on from the Forgotten Australians apology, this Thursday in Perth there will be an apology from the British High Commissioner to the UK migrants, who were also known as the Lost Innocents, who were transported by the British government to Australia. Out of the 7,500, most ended up in Western Australia, and we cannot forget that they went through an institutional life, as many of the Forgotten Australians did.
I would like to make members in this chamber aware that, hopefully, I will be attending the apology on Thursday. It is a big step in the right direction for many people. It is a road to recovery, after the suffering they have gone through. Also, we cannot forget the migrants from Malta who came out at that time, under the program of the British and Australian governments.
