Another day and another MPI based on fear not facts, politics not principles and now slur not science. Will the opposition ever take their responsibilities as parliamentarians seriously? Will they ever engage in a sensible and rational debate over policies like this one on climate change that are fundamental to our nation’s future? On the evidence so far, the answer is clearly no. We are not even a week into this debate and the desperation of Liberal-National Party members is plumbing new depths. We have seen them reach almost hysterical levels in their attempt to mislead Australians about the effects of a carbon price. Let us look at some of the statements by opposition members about this.
