Broadband (Question No. 180)

The Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy has provided the following answer to the honourable member’s question:

The minimum CVC capacity that can be bought over the NBN fibre access network is 100Mps TC-4 (traffic class 4).

The contention ratio, capacity and number of end users supplied by any given CVC will be up to each individual Retails Service Provider (RSP) to determine in accordance with the needs of their customers and the level of service they are providing.

NBN Co’s approach is to provide maximum flexibility for RSPs to design products that best meet the need of their customers.
