Paid Parental Leave

The reason why we are introducing a Paid Parental Leave scheme at replacement wages is because we believe it is going to help to increase the workforce participation levels of women aged between 25 and 54. Now, the important point is this: the Labor Party knows that we have an ageing population. We should celebrate the fact that Australians are living longer, but it is hugely important that those people of working age participate more in work. The way to do that is to have sensible reforms—
