It is not the voices from the opposition that are saying this. It is the voices from the sector themselves. They are telling us that they were drowning in red tape, drowning in compliance burden. There was more tape, more wrapping, than a Cristo installation. What is the government's answer to this problem? Instead of supporting and enhancing the functions of the ACNC—the report once, use often principle—they abolish that and go back to the bad old days where the great people in the charities and not-for-profit sector, instead of spending all their time doing the great work in the community, are now going to be forced to spend a great deal of their time on a compliance burden which is entirely unnecessary. It is why we say this is an act of vandalism, and those on the other side ought to think again. The bill should be rejected.
