I have a brief statement. After question time yesterday, the Manager of Opposition Business asked me about the setting of the clock during questions. Members have 30 seconds to ask questions. The clock is paused if there is an interruption to a question. It is reset if I ask a member to repeat or rephrase the question. I have asked the Clerk to ensure staff who serve as Deputy Clerk are aware of those arrangements, as the member for Sydney was not given the full 30 seconds to ask her question when I asked her to rephrase the first part of the question.
