On indulgence: I associate the opposition with the foreign affairs minister's remarks. This parliament, too, is united in its resolve. North Korea's repeated defiance of international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions is unacceptable. North Korea's ballistic threat and missile tests are a direct threat not only to their neighbours but to the broader region and beyond. We should be upholding the UN Security Council resolutions and doing more where we can. Every nation has an obligation to do what it can. Later this month, I will travel with Senator Penny Wong to South Korea and Japan to discuss the security situation on the Korean peninsula. All of us in this parliament should do what we can, in a united fashion, to be able to contribute to greater world peace and deal with the threat of North Korea.
