by leave—I move:
That so much of the standing orders be suspended as would prevent:
(1) the House inviting His Excellency Mr Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, to address the House by video-facility on Thursday, 31 March 2022, at 5.30 pm;
(2) unless otherwise ordered, for the purposes of the address by the President of Ukraine:
(a) the House suspending at 5.15 pm, and resuming at 5.30 pm;
(b) the proceedings at 5.30 pm being welcoming remarks by the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition and an address by the President of Ukraine;
(c) at the conclusion of His Excellency's address the House suspending until the ringing of the bells; and
(d) the provisions of standing order 257(c) applying to the area of Members' seats as well as the galleries;
(3) a message being sent to the Senate inviting Senators to attend the House as guests for the welcoming remarks by the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition and address by the President of Ukraine; and
(4) any variation to this arrangement being made only by a motion moved by a Minister.
Question agreed to.
