Thank you, Mr Speaker. We have inherited a debt, and we've got to deal with it. We've also got to ensure that the superannuation system operates as it was intended and that there is integrity in the system. That's what these measures are all about: ensuring that there is integrity in the system.

To the member's question, he may not be aware—but certainly the member for Deakin is aware and certainly the member for Hume should be aware—that under the current laws there is a requirement for superannuation funds—
