My question is to the Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs. I refer to the minister's previous answer about Emmanuel Saki, a noncitizen convicted of serious domestic violence offences and unprovoked threats to kill with a knife. Saki's visa was reinstated by the AAT as a direct result of the watering down of the law by the Albanese government and the issuance of direction 99. Why did the minister not step in, intervene and cancel the visa before this man went on to allegedly murder a 22-year-old?
