That so much of standing and sessional orders be suspended as would prevent a Minister from immediately introducing without notice a Bill to amend the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009.
It is urgent that standing and sessional orders be suspended because there is a need to deal with the pressing threat to public safety and to the rights of both workers and indeed union officials in the construction sector which is posed by the notorious CFMEU. Let me explain to the House the urgency and why it is necessary to canvass this matter immediately. The first reason is—
