My question is to the Prime Minister. Is the Prime Minister aware of the comments of the Attorney-General on Monday, when he described the terrorism trial of Abdul Nacer Benbrika and others as ‘the most successful terrorism prosecution that this country has seen’? Does the Prime Minister agree with the Attorney-General?
Kevin Rudd (Griffith, Australian Labor Party, Prime Minister) Share this | Link to this | Hansard source
When we deal with terrorism in this country we, in the government—and I presume those opposite—believe in taking an absolute hard line. We support our law enforcement agencies, we support the independence of our judiciary and, on the question of terrorism, there should be no political rancour among us.
