My question is to the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship. Since the decision of the High Court, has the minister sought any additional protections for asylum seekers to be transferred to Malaysia under the government's people-swap deal? If so, what additional protections have been secured?
Chris Bowen (McMahon, Australian Labor Party, Minister for Immigration and Citizenship) Share this | Link to this | Hansard source
The answer to the honourable member's question is no, because the government is satisfied with the protections negotiated painstakingly with Malaysia over six months.
