My question is to the Attorney-General. Yesterday the Attorney defended the government's failure to safeguard Australia's national security because the convicted Egyptian jihadist terrorist had been in detention for the entire time that he had been here. Is residence behind this pool fence—in the photo I hold—his idea of satisfactory detention?

I thank the Deputy Leader of the Opposition for her question. I considered objecting to the form of the question. I do not accept the premise of the question about the description of the government's conduct. I repeat, in case the Deputy Leader of the Opposition has had trouble understanding, that the individual in question has been in detention at all times—
Ms Julie Bishop interjecting—
I repeat: the individual in question has been in detention at all times since the individual in question entered Australia—in detention.
