I rise to talk about the importance of regional Australia and to highlight to the House just how important it is we get people to live in regional Australia. Eighty-seven per cent of the people who live in Australia live 50 kilometres from the coast. Can I tell you that in the town I live in, Mildura, you can buy a very good two-bedroom house for $185,000. You can buy a four-bedroom house with a pizza oven out the back, a pool out the back and a wonderful entertaining area for $350,000.
