My question is to the Prime Minister. Yesterday, the Deputy Prime Minister told The Conservative Breakfast Club that retirees were using their retirement savings to enjoy a few cruises and the luxuries of life for a few years until the money runs out, and then fall back on the age pension. Prime Minister, Australia's pensioners have worked hard and contributed their whole life. Does the Prime Minister agree that Australia's pensioners are living in luxury?

I deeply respect all of the people who have built this nation. Today's elderly have built this nation, and they deserve the respect of our people and of this parliament. The best and most compassionate thing that we can do for the pensioners of Australia is make the pension sustainable for the long term, and that is exactly what this government has done.
