Education: Student Attendance (Question No. 620)

asked the Minister for Education and Training, in writing, on 14 November 2014:
What was the rate of attendance in (a) primary, and (b) secondary, schools for (i) each year level in each state and territory in the latest years for which records are available, and (ii) the ten years leading up to 2012.

The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:
Detailed information on student attendance rates by year level in each state and territory since 2007 is available on the Productivity Commission website in the Overcoming Indigenous Disadvantage report (Chapter 7, Education and Training): http://www.pc.gov.au/gsp/overcoming-indigenous-disadvantage/key-indicators-2014/report.
Student attendance rate information was not collected at a national level prior to 2007.
