My question is to the Treasurer. Was the Minister for Education and Training correct when he stated that the figures for schools funding from 2018 in the budget are indicative only?

The member for Sydney has been warned.

I refer the member to my earlier answer. I have made it very clear what the expenditure figures are for education in the budget going forward. That is perfectly clear. For those watching, the good news is that the government's funding for education is going up every year—every single year it is going up. Even more importantly for those who, like Paul Keating, are concerned about the policies of those opposite—the higher taxes for higher spending approach—we are paying for our higher education funding through savings.
