My question is to the Prime Minister. Will the Prime Minister rule out abandoning the four-pillars policy which would allow the big four banks to merge and get even bigger and more powerful?
Malcolm Turnbull (Wentworth, Liberal Party, Prime Minister) Share this | Link to this | Hansard source
The four-pillars policy has for many years been part of the financial sector policy of Australian governments of both sides, and I expect it will remain so for many years. I can assure you that we have no intention of contemplating mergers between the big four banks.
