I move:
That this bill be now read a second time.
The Office of National Intelligence (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Bill 2018 will make amendments to 19 acts to support the proposed operation of the Office of National Intelligence Bill 2018.
In addition to repealing the Office of National Assessments Act 1977 in its entirety, the bill will make substantive amendments to other legislation relating to the establishment of ONI, including to facilitate the following:
The bill also includes transitional provisions and arrangements which will facilitate the seamless transition when the Office of National Assessments becomes the Office of National Intelligence.
On those bases, I commend this bill to the House.
