There can be no hiding the fact that this government is in lock step with One Nation. As a result of the Longman by-election, this union has delivered a primary vote for the LNP of just 29 per cent in Queensland. We know that Pauline Hanson's One Nation has decided to vote with the government almost 100 per cent of the time this year. In fact, recent articles in the Fairfax Media reported that Senator Hanson is the most reliable voting partner that the government has in the Senate. Despite what they say, One Nation is not a party for the battlers. It is a party like this government, a party for big business. Time and time again, we see that Senator Hanson's One Nation is not the friend of the Australian battler. It's only friends with the Prime Minister and his big-business mates.
We know that the people of Australia have repeatedly rejected what One Nation stands for. Did you hear the message from Longman, yes or no? Clearly this Prime Minister remains out of touch. The government is friends with a party who sells out battlers, who sells out apprentices, who sells out on climate change, and who sells out on seniors and the battlers of this nation. When will this government learn to dump One Nation and follow in the footsteps of John Howard, who said, 'My view is that One Nation party should be placed last on all Liberal Party how-to-vote cards'? 'If you won't listen to John Howard, start listening to the people of Australia—and, more importantly, listen to the message from Longman.
