Australia is doing a good job in working with our trading partners and international organisations to build agreements and systems that reflect the digital economy. But more can be done and Australia is well placed to take the lead in most of these issues. It is vital that Australia makes the most of these new technologies to rethink how our trade systems operate, rather than simply digitise paper based systems.

The report makes 11 recommendations, including that the Australian government create a single portal of information—
