My question is addressed to the Prime Minister. Can the Prime Minister confirm that he suggested to the New South Wales Premier that the scope of the bushfire recovery clean-up funding proposal by New South Wales was not consistent with the Black Saturday framework in a bid to reduce the cost to the federal government?

As I confirmed to the journalist who put this same matter to us on the weekend, the proposal I put to the New South Wales Premier was the proposal that was adopted and the proposal that was announced—that is, the proposal that was arranged between the Treasurer, the Treasurer of New South Wales, the head of the National Bushfire Recovery Agency and their counterpart in New South Wales. What we proposed is what was announced.
