That this bill be now read a second time.

The National Commissioner for Defence and Veteran Suicide Prevention (Consequential Amendments) Bill 2020 (the bill) operates in conjunction with the National Commissioner for Defence and Veteran Suicide Prevention Bill 2020, which establishes the National Commissioner for Defence and Veteran Suicide Prevention as an independent statutory officer holder. The bill amends relevant Commonwealth legislation to give effect to, or as a consequence of, the National Commissioner for Defence and Veteran Suicide Prevention Bill 2020.

I commend the bill to the House.
