My question is to the Prime Minister. Can the Prime Minister confirm that today the government has lost its majority on the floor of the House of Representatives? What does it say about this Prime Minister's judgement that he installed this member against the objection of local Liberal Party members in the Sutherland shire?

The statement by the member for Hughes is well known to the members of this place by now, and the status of the parties in the House is a matter of common knowledge. If the Leader of the Opposition is feeling so confident about the performance of his opposition, perhaps he would like to bring on a motion.
