I have the delight of living in one of the most beautiful areas in the country, the New South Wales South Coast. Not only is it a beautiful place to live; it is also full of wonderful events and festivals. Today I want to talk about two amazing events that happened on the South Coast just this weekend. There was the always fantastic South Coast Food and Wine Festival. This festival is an incredible showcase of what the South Coast has to offer. It is a wonderful way to spend a weekend—sampling some of the fine wine and food that the region has to offer, with local entertainment, all at the beautiful Moona Moona Creek Reserve in Huskisson. There were many wonderful brewers, distillers and producers with their wares on offer this weekend, including Silos Estate, Cambewarra Estate, Two Figs Winery, Jervis Bay Brewing Co, Tara Distillery, Cupitt's Estate and many, many more. If you haven't been to the South Coast Food and Wine Festival, mark it in your calendar for next year.
Also on over the weekend was the Berry Gardens Festival. This wonderful event showcases gardens in Berry and the surrounding areas that are selected for their design, plant variety and creativity. You will see all manner of things every year, from small cottage gardens to sweeping rural landscapes, but every year there's something new.
The South Coast Food and Wine Festival and the Berry Gardens Festival are just two of the amazing festivals the South Coast has to offer. I would like to thank all the partners, producers, stallholders, sponsors, gardeners, residents, organisers and volunteers for making these festivals happen.
