More than 1,200 local residents have signed my petition calling for urgent action to provide a traffic management solution at the dangerous intersection of Seacrest Drive and Marmion Avenue, in Sorrento. There have been multiple accidents at this intersection since I last raised this issue over two months ago in this place to improve road safety for local residents. According to the RAC this is one of the most hazardous intersections in WA, with at least 33 traffic crashes and countless near misses at this intersection.

I have urged Main Roads and Premier Roger Cook to urgently intervene, as this project has not been given the priority it deserves. Last week I took the shadow assistant minister for infrastructure and transport, Tony Pasin, the member for Barker, to see this dangerous intersection firsthand. Our community should not be forced to go out of our way to avoid this notorious black spot which has needed attention for many years.
