I must apologise for looking slightly worn and pale this morning. I was roused from my post-breakfast slumber by Senator Carr’s speech this morning—his stinging defence of liberal democracy, sounding more like Thomas Jefferson every day. One of the reasons I am so fond of Senator Carr is, as everyone knows, we both share a taste for irony. I sleep well at night in my bed knowing that Senator Carr is looking after liberal democracy and the principles that underpin it!
The Electoral and Referendum Amendment (Electoral Integrity and Other Measures) Bill 2006 introduces some of the most significant amendments to the Commonwealth Electoral Act in over two decades.
