Local Government in Australia

That is because the coalition did not support it. When we get all parties together supporting a referendum initiative, local government will get recognition. We have got the support in the Senate and we should stand up for carrying that through to justice under the Constitution, giving local government the constitutional recognition that it deserves. The government is letting down local government by not giving that support to this amendment today.
