Others got there first, Alan! It was more entertaining to see the reaction of her colleagues to the dressing-down that they got. I must say that height, size and gender meant nothing to Jeannie when she was wagging her finger. She did a very good job in keeping that side of the chamber in check for most of the time that they were here while she was the Government Whip.

I watched her struggle with the cancer and I saw her deterioration in the final weeks, which she faced with great courage and strength. It is with great sadness that I acknowledge Jeannie’s passing. I offer my condolences to her family, who I am sure will miss her deeply.
