If Senator Evans wants to look into the history of the Labor Party and see what previous prime ministers have used Kirribilli House for, he ought to take a close look at Prime Minister Hawke. It was probably when Senator Faulkner was deputy secretary of the Labor Party in New South Wales; that seems to be about the right time.
