and, Senator Joyce, it is good to hear you are still alive over there. Let’s look at what the Treasurer had to say, and then we will go to some figures. The Treasurer said in his opening remarks:

This Budget is designed to meet the big challenges of the future—

something that the Howard government was incapable of doing. It had lost its way; it had lost its direction; it did not know where to go. So in step Kevin Rudd and Wayne Swan to give some direction to this nation. If that were not the case, we would not be sitting on this side and you would not be on that side.
