I would not have expected that Senator Ross Lightfoot and I would have, as it were, hit it off. But there is something about the chemistry of this place that one does develop personal friendships with people of widely variant political views. Ross Lightfoot and I hit it off enormously. Senator Patterson said that Senator Lightfoot has mellowed. Perhaps the proof of that observation was that tonight we had the final hauling down of the separatist flag.
