The package announced today will help support and sustain up to 90,000 jobs over the next two years. Key elements of the package announced today include $28.8 billion in government investments in schools, housing and energy efficiency and $12.7 billion in payments to low- and middle-income Australians, and the tax bonus for working Australians provides an immediate cash benefit of up to $950 to 8.7 million Australians on top of the tax cuts that will commence from 1 July 2009.
