by leave—I will be very brief. I endorse the remarks of both Senator Evans and Senator Minchin. Obviously, the thoughts and prayers of this chamber are with those people who are trying in any way they can to alleviate the pain and suffering that people are going through in Victoria. I acknowledge the work of people in the hospitals, especially the burns units. I am sure that this parliament will make every effort to bring about a process that, although it cannot take people back to the time before the fires, can show them that we have every sympathy and will make every effort to provide some sort of relief for the future.
