It is with deep regret that I inform the Senate of the death of two former members of the House of Representatives:

(a)

on 13 April 2009, of John Lindsay Armitage OAM, a member of the House of Representatives for the divisions of Mitchell, from 1961 to 1963, and Chifley, from 1969 to 1983; and

(b)

on 16 March 2009 of William George Burns, a former member for the division of Isaacs, Victoria, from 1977 to 1980.
