I thank Senator Brandis for his support of the Trans-Tasman Proceedings Bill 2009 and the Trans-Tasman Proceedings (Transitional and Consequential Provisions) Bill 2009, which are important pieces of legislation. The reforms implement the agreement as based in the recommendations of the Trans-Tasman Working Group on Court Proceedings and Regulatory Enforcement. I commend the bills to the Senate.
