I was provoked by Senator Feeney to respond—serves me right for praising him in the first place! To say that these amendments are of no practical effect is not right, and I think we need to correct the record in relation to that. These amendments are of practical effect in the context of the mischief that occurred at the 2010 South Australian state election, because what occurred there is something that could occur here at a federal level.
