The Minister for Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question:

(1) The eight ongoing Water for the Future programs are:

Sustainable Rural Water Use and Infrastructure

Restoring the Balance in the Basin

Great Artesian Basin Sustainability Initiative

National Water Security Plan for Cities and Towns

Green Precincts

National Rainwater and Greywater Initiatives

National Urban Water and Desalination Plan

Water Smart Australia

(2) to (6) The review is being conducted by the Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities, and is currently in progress. When it is complete it will be considered by the Australian Government.
