This question, obviously, was raised with us some time ago, and the advice that I received at that time is that subsection (2B), which prevents a person from being a registered officer of several different parties, does not prevent a person from being both the registered officer or a deputy registered officer of a registered political party for the purposes of this act and the registered officer or a deputy registered officer, however described, for the purposes of an act of a state or territory or an ordinance of an external territory of a political party or a branch of a political party.
