Before calling Senator Hume, could I advise honourable senators of the presence in the chamber today of the President of the Legislative Council of New South Wales, the Hon. John Ajaka. On behalf of all senators I wish him warm welcome. He is accompanied by senior officers of the parliament. With the concurrence of honourable senators, I will invite the President to join with me on the floor of the Senate.
