James McGrath (Queensland, Liberal National Party, Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister) Share this | Hansard source
Australia is one of the most successful multicultural nations in the world. Earlier this year, the government launched our new multicultural statement titled 'Multicultural Australia: United, Strong, Successful', which outlines our ongoing commitment to building an Australia that is welcoming and respectful to people who come from all corners of the globe. The statement makes clear that we reject practices that undermine our values and the rule of law, while maintaining the right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion. The government affirms that there is no place for racism and bigotry in our society.
Question agreed to.
