Anne Ruston (SA, Liberal Party, Assistant Minister for International Development and the Pacific) Share this | Hansard source
Australia is a founding member of the United Nations and has been an active participant in the UN for 70 years. We welcome the participation of young Australians as part of our next generation of leaders in the UN's work. The Australian government supports our UN youth representatives by funding their participation at the UN in New York. Former Australian government UN youth representative Chris Eigeland was appointed by the government in 2017 as a member of Australia's UNESCO National Commission. In that role, he advises the government on youth and communication issues relating to the United Nations. The Australian government's plan for strong economy, return to budget balance and the delivery of essential services is designed to support the future of young Australians.
