I just wanted to explain to the chamber that it was the Labor Party who had asked for this motion to be postponed, so that we could consult with colleagues about the merits of the motion more broadly than just seeking to have a continuing resolution placed before the Senate. We needed to do further consultations but, unfortunately, that hasn't been allowed. In light of that and the fact that we haven't been able to consult with colleagues, Labor won't be in a position to support this motion today, even though there may be merit to the motion if we'd had more time to consider it.
