I'm going to use my discretion as the chair to offer those who I don't record, who objected to that motion being taken as formal—because if we proceed this way we will end up dealing with substantially fewer motions in today's order of business than we would otherwise.
An honourable senator interjecting—
That's okay, I'm happy to put it. I was offering senators that courtesy. The question is that the motion to suspend standing orders moved by Senator Gallagher be agreed to. I note that this does not require an absolute majority.
