I move the motion and commend the motion to the House:

That the provisions of the Migration Amendment (Removal and Other Measures) Bill 2024 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 24 June 2024.

Very briefly, I understand that there's a foreshadowed motion by Senator Birmingham that will shorten the reporting period. Obviously, the Greens would prefer the reporting period set out in the motion, but we indicate that we won't be opposing the amendment.
