A letter has been received from Senator Tyrrell:

Pursuant to standing order 75, I propose that the following matter of public importance be submitted to the Senate for discussion:

With Australia in the grip of a cost of living crisis, now is the time to focus on providing good numeracy and literacy education so our children are equipped to make fiscally responsible decisions.

Is consideration of the proposal supported?

With the concurrence of the Senate, the clerks will set the clock in line with the informal arrangements made by the whips.
