As part of trying to clarify what was happening with the previous motion, I was not able to get a clear message about what was meant to happen with Senator Murray’s motion. I understand there is a need to move an amendment to this motion.

It has not. I will be seeking to move the amendment once I know what the amendment is meant to be.

Perhaps you should seek leave to postpone the motion to a later hour.

by leave—At the request of Senator Murray, I move:
That business of the Senate notice of motion no. 5 standing in the name of Senator Murray for today, proposing the reference of bills to the Economics Legislation Committee, be postponed till a later hour.
Question agreed to.
